Lithium-Ion Charger Module with MPPT

Silvertel announces the launch of Ag105, a feature-rich charge controller module for protected Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) and Lithium Polymer (Li-Po) batteries. Suitable for use with a fixed DC supply or in conjunction with a renewable source, such as a solar panel, this new device optimises and extends the life of Li-Ion / Li-Po batteries
Ag105 is a self-contained module, requiring very few external components to configure it for any application. With a wide operating input range of 11VDC to 36VDC and using intelligent charging techniques, such as Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT), the Ag105 will adjust the charge rate to optimise the power produced by a solar panel.
The Ag105 can be configured for 1, 2 or 3 series cell Li-Ion batteries, with 4 voltage per-cell options to balance serviceable battery lifetime and usable capacity.
Designed and manufactured in the UK, this high efficiency JEITA compliant battery charger also includes an I2C interface for easy control and status feedback, adjustable charge voltage and charge current and it has the additional re-assurance of overload protection short-circuit protection and thermal protection
This is the latest in the range of Silvertel battery charger modules, which includes modules for Sealed Lead Acid (SLA) and Li-Ion batteries. The product is cost-effective, easy to use, occupies a minimum of PCB real estate and provides superior performance. Ag105 evaluation boards are also available, as well as a range of application notes, backed by Silvertel’s class-leading technical support team.
